Turtle Watch is a Finnish, award winning marine environmental organisation specialised in marine research about endangered animals and environmental awareness. We have been active since 2007. The founding members are marine biologists MSc Anu Riihimäki and PhD Maria Koivisto.
Anu works for the Finnish governmental institute "Metsähallitus" and has specialised in under water mapping. Maria completed her PhD about invertebrate ecology in the Baltic Sea and currently works as a researcher and environmental educator. Both are passionate divers and have a big desire to conserve marine life. Especially close to our hearts are sea turtles, amazing creatures that have roamed our seas for over 130 Million years.
