Although I am not a big follower of trends, there is one emerging trend that I can´t help but liking. Companies around the world have been collecting plastic waste and are turning them into clothes, flower pots and shoes. That´s right! You can now walk around in shoes made out of plastic waste collected from the sea. So cool (not as cool as if the plastic was not there at all, obviously). Adidas has committed to make 1 million sport shoes out of plastic trash. If you are not lucky enough to be one of the happy people getting your toes into those shoes, maybe you can get your hands on these recycled flower pots! Finnish Orthex is making housings for your flowers 100 % out of recycled plastic packaging returned by consumers! Watch an ice cream box get a new life as a flower pot in this video. Plant your spring flowers in this recycled pot! Also the clothing industry has noticed the trend and are now using recycles polyester and making clothes out of them. How nice wouldn´t this jacket from the Bionic Yarn look on you? Let´s keep the plastic out of the oceans and instead, wear it!
p.s. The other half of Turtle Watch is now also safely in Finland in case you were wondering :)
